Just how BIG is a dragon? The most widespread numbers in fandom come from the error-filled "Dragonlover's Guide to Pern" which says that dragons are between 20 meters (for small greens) and 45 meters (for Lessa's queen, Ramoth). However, if you look at Ramoth on the cover of "Dragonflight" you'll notice that she is closer to 45 feet than 45 meters (148 1/2 feet).
Based on the book covers and the descriptions in the books themselves,
Rocky Crater Weyrhold has settled on the following size charts. The first
one lists the size ranges for adult dragons at RCW, and the second lists
the average size of our dragons from hatchling to adulthood. In
both cases, the dragon's wingspan is roughly equal to its length x 1.66,
then rounded off to the nearest whole number.
